Gaëlle Cassin-Ross is the founder of Aux Petits Soins™ and the primary instructor for all classes.
I was born outside Paris and grew up in Guadeloupe, a French department in the Caribbean. I’ve always taken a lot of pride in my language and culture. After receiving my Ph.D. in molecular biology and plant physiology in 2008, I moved to the U.S. for a research position at Michigan State University. I stepped down when I had my first child in 2014. The next year I started Aux Petits Soins™ after several mothers heard me speaking French to my son and asked me to teach their children as well.
Teaching language at Aux Petits Soins™ has become a passion project for me. I developed the three-step Listen. Absorb. Speak.™ language immersion system to help children and adults learn French by following the natural order of native language learning.
It’s brought me joy to know that I’m helping to connect Americans with a culture that they love. I’m also happy to be planting the seeds for my children to grow up surrounded by other French speakers here in the U.S.
