There are many opportunities to become part of our team. These are all unpaid positions (for now, at least), but there is the possibility for getting school credit at either Michigan State University or Lansing Community College.
- Help during class
To be a classroom helper, you need to enjoy being around kids and must be able to speak in conversational French for up to an hour. It’s OK if you’re new to the language — most of the activities and songs are done in call-and-response fashion, making it easy for beginners to keep up.
- Help during French Club
French Club is a weekly, two-hour session that’s geared for kids aged 6-12. This position requires some proficiency with the French language, as some of the activities are a little more advanced.
- Help with the adult program
We are currently seeking interns and contract employees to lead or help develop the Adult language immersion program. This has some more informal elements, as some aspects require nothing more than having conversations about everyday subjects with other people. There may also be some light curriculum development work. This position obviously requires a high level of proficiency, so native French speakers would probably be the best fit.
